June 2016 Free Trial Class

Our June Fundamentals course starts Monday June 6th and the first class is Free – Drop by and give it a try. If you like it – stick around for the month and get ready to make a real change to your fitness.

Our fundamentals course includes twelve (12) sessions and class size is limited to 8 people. We will teach participants the basic elements required for Crossfit.

These 12 X 60 minute sessions will cover the fundamental movements of CrossFit. You’ll learn proper technique on the foundational movements that build the base for our workouts. Athletes will learn how to scale movements appropriately to your own individual skill level.

Each class will start ramping up your fitness with a CrossFit workout during each class. Fundamentals classes start once a month, and run Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The sessions are structured to allow you to get in the groove of the regular classes as soon as possible.

Athlete safety is our top priority. In order to ensure high levels of efficacy in your workout, we require all of our prospective members complete the fundamental program. The fundamentals program is designed to give the member an overview of CrossFit terminology, foundational movements, and to complete several Crossfit workouts. Upon completion of the Fundamentals’ session, you will be able to join regularly scheduled classes

 

March Fundamentals

CrossFit Summerside and CrossFit 782 are pleased to announce the third annual Island Throwdown.

Island Throwdown 3.0 will be held on November 28th and will be hosted by CrossFit Summerside.

All proceeds will again be going to the CBC Turkey Drive.

With three workouts, this will be a full competition for both seasoned competitors and those new to CrossFit competitions.

Fall Boot Camp & Fundamentals

September is a busy time of year. Back to School, and also back to fitness. We had an amazing turnout for our free trial class. The largest class we’ve ever run @ CFSS.

We are offering both a BOOTCAMP and a Fundamentals program this month. If you are serious about joining the BOOTCAMP or CrossFit, we highly recommend you register today. Both programs are filling up quickly, and spaces are very limited.

The Fundamentals program is designed for people interested in joining CrossFit. Crossfit is a lifelong strength and conditioning program that is built on constantly varied functional movements, performed at high intensity. It includes elements of Olympic lifting, Gymnastics and body weight exercises. The Fundamentals program runs for four weeks long and is 3 days per week. (Mon, Wed, Sat)

Boot Camp runs for 6 weeks, and has 2 classes per week (Tue, Sat). If you are looking to kick start your fitness, lose weight and feel better, our Boot camp is for you! This is not a normal CrossFit class – this is a more traditional Boot Camp, no barbells, no handstand push-ups. Just a solid 60 min high intensity workout led by certified instructors.

Both programs are $150+HST.

 

Summer Boot Camp – Starts July 28th

Are you looking to get fit, lose weight, and look and feel better?

Our boot camp is just the thing you need. We will challenge you in ways you never thought possible. Our programming is based on the proven methodology of CrossFit, incorporating full body movements in the daily workouts – There 60 minute classed will emphasize high intensity training.

No matter your current fitness level or exercise experience we guarantee you’ll be challenged in every workout.

This six week program will offer two classes per week. Classes will be Tuesdays and Saturdays.

You do not have to FIT to start – This class does not require any experience.

I wanted to drop a few lines about how much. I enjoy cross fit.
I’m used to lift weights and doing my own thing. Over the years I fell into a slump and heard about the cross fit program. Feeling insecure and nervous at first but since I joined I have found a new family of fitness that have welcomed me from day one. Feeling quite insecure about working out with the fittest of the fittest I was quiet nervous.
In a nutshell. The best part of cross fit is the comraderie of support. Everyone helps out and supports each other…..and the applause at the end is pretty cool too.

I am so glad I decided to join crossfit. The atmosphere in the gym when you walk in is something you cant get anywhere else. Everyone says hi to you and is so positive. We encourage each other and cheer each other on to finish that last rep or do that last burpee. Every time I leave a crossfit gym I think to myself…wow I just did that! Its a great feeling!

A couple things that come to mind:
I’ve been a competitive swimmer for most of my life and a runner for 10 years, but I’ve never been part of a more welcoming, supportive and diverse group as Crossfit.
My ‘baby stomach’ is shrinking after 16 years! Maybe that could get some new Moms out Plus I love seeing how my body is transforming. I still weigh the same as when I started but I def. don’t have the same body…
There are so many things to celebrate – so many firsts – pull ups, toes to bar, push ups etc. I’ve always thought of myself as ‘in shape’ but never felt strong before.
And the clothes are the coolest of any sport.

These came from women of all different ages as well!
